Her

The way she captivates
        is a mystery
How is it possible to feel so deeply when
        I thought I'd already been
                to depths that became my boundaries
        but the ocean of her eyes wears them away
And I cannot see anyone else when I think of
        Her.

Her voice is embracing, soft and sweet
        nectar
                funneling through my ears and
                        into my soul
        velvet where I can rest my weary heart
                        secure in a delicate safe
And I do not want when I can remember
        Her.

There are these places I've been
        and I wonder
                can I be her guide
        I want to see how she looks
                how she listens
                        how she lives
        and I wonder
What I know of permanency I know of how I feel towards
        Her.

I do not question
        my dreams,
                not anymore
        as she steps through on silent whispers
                of desire
And although I am like a young bird
        newly taking flight
I only wish to find a branch and build a nest with
