His fingers on her cheek,
Soft, a bird returned to its nest
A moment stretched then, before
She turned her head away
There was nothing she could say.
He swore under his breath,
Amazed by her coolness,
And with that he walked away,
Disappeared into an otherwise average day.
He knew nothing of how she felt,
Knowing this was wrong,
Too many years between them had dampened her spirit
And this knowledge through her heart ripped.
The anger, the confusion, she felt as
She tried to make sense of the senseless situation;
She made herself hate him but deep down she knew
That this boy--this man--she still loved true.
She looks up and their eyes unwillingly meet,
Brown to dark, dark to brown
He was used to girls falling at his feet,
But this one was different; in her worhsip of him she was discreet.
He probably never knew
How much he meant to her
There was so much she should say
When at the end he got up, and from her life he walked away.

"I am in earnest--I will not equivocate--I will not excuse--I will not retreat a single inch and I will be heard." -- William L. Garrison
You wrote this very well.
The structure is perfect, it carries you right into the piece.

Come to the edge, he said,
They said: We are afraid
Come to the edge, he said.
They came,
He pushed them,
...and they flew.

Just remember that what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, and your strength is proved each time you you pick up pen and write such beautiful pieces.
